Look for the Orca
You can find us at Gairloch Harbour, on Pier Road. Our booking office is conveniently located opposite the pontoon where our boats are moored. Don’t confuse us with our competitors – look for the Orca!
Gairloch can only be reached by road. We are less than 90 minutes drive from Inverness, not much more from Skye (Kyle of Lochalsh) and about an hour’s drive from Ullapool. There is ample free parking around Gairloch Harbour, with shops and restaurants.
From Inverness: Take the A9 north (signposted Thurso, Ullapool) across the Kessock Bridge. After seven miles, at the Tore Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A835 (signposted Ullapool). Stay on the A835 for 18 miles, passing through Contin and then Garve. After Garve turn left onto the A832 (signposted Gairloch). Pass through Achnasheen and then Kinlochewe (the descent down Glen Docherty into Kinlochewe gives stunning views of Loch Maree). Follow the A832 along the shore of Loch Maree and on to Gairloch. On entering Gairloch, you will see the Harbour on your left.
From Skye (Kyle of Lochalsh): Follow the A87 (signposted Fort William, Inverness) for about five miles. At Auchtertyre turn left onto the A890 (signposted Stromeferry, Achnasheen). Follow this road for about 32 miles, along with the shores of Loch Carron, through Achnashellach then up the spectacular Glen Carron. On reaching the Achnasheen roundabout take the first exit (signposted Gairloch) onto the A832. At this point, you have joined the Inverness-Gairloch route (above).
From Ullapool: Take the A835 south (signposted Inverness). After 12 miles, at Braemore Junction, turn right onto the A832 (signposted Gairloch). Pass through Dundonnell, Laide, Aultbea, and Poolewe. The road between Dundonnel and Poolewe is one of the most spectacular coastal routes in Scotland. On reaching Gairloch, drive through the village on the A832, passing the golf course, until you come to the Harbour, on your right.
